Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 July 2026 · PORTLIFT

We collect the minimum information we need to respond to your enquiry and deliver our services. We don't sell data, we don't run advertising, and we won't contact you unless you've asked us to.

Who we are

PORTLIFT is a game porting studio. We are the data controller for personal data collected via this website and through our pre-sales and service delivery process.

For privacy enquiries, contact us at privacy@portlift.games.

What we collect

Information you give us

When you submit a port assessment request or contact us directly, we collect:

  • Your name and email address
  • Your studio name (if provided)
  • Links to your game and any other information you include in the message
  • The service type you select (e.g. Mobile → PC, Console → Mobile)

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address only.

Information collected automatically

When you visit this website, our hosting infrastructure may collect standard server log data: IP address, browser type, referring URL, pages visited, and timestamps. This data is aggregated and not linked to personal identifiers.

With your consent, we use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use this website, which pages are viewed, how long visitors stay, and what leads to a port assessment request. Google Analytics only runs after you accept analytics cookies via the banner shown on your first visit; if you decline, no analytics data is collected. Google may process your IP address, device and browser type, and pages visited on our behalf as part of this service.

How we use it

We use the information you provide to:

  • Respond to your port assessment request or general enquiry
  • Conduct the technical assessment of your game
  • Deliver and manage our porting and publishing services, if you engage us
  • Send our monthly newsletter, if you subscribe
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any automated decision-making. We do not contact you for marketing purposes unless you have explicitly opted in.

Data retention

We retain data for as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected:

  • Assessment enquiries, 2 years from the date of enquiry, or for the duration of any resulting engagement plus 7 years (for legal and financial record-keeping)
  • Newsletter subscribers, until you unsubscribe
  • Server logs, 90 days, then deleted

When data is no longer needed, it is securely deleted.

Third parties

We share data with third parties only where necessary:

  • Email infrastructure, our email provider processes messages you send to us. We use a provider that operates under a data processing agreement.
  • Spam and bot protection, our contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to verify that submissions come from real visitors. Turnstile runs invisibly and does not require you to solve a challenge; to do this, Cloudflare processes technical signals such as your IP address and browser characteristics. See the Cloudflare Turnstile Privacy Policy for details.
  • Hosting, this website is hosted by infrastructure that processes server log data. No personal data submitted via forms is stored on the hosting layer; it is transmitted directly to our email.
  • Analytics, with your consent, Google Analytics (operated by Google LLC) processes usage data to help us understand site traffic. This only runs if you accept analytics cookies via our cookie banner. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.
  • Legal and professional advisors, we may share data with lawyers, accountants, or auditors where required by law or legitimate interest.

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data. We do not share data with advertising networks.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR (and EU GDPR where applicable), you have the right to:

  • Access, request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Rectification, ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Erasure, ask us to delete your data (subject to legal retention obligations)
  • Restriction, ask us to restrict processing while a dispute is resolved
  • Portability, receive your data in a machine-readable format
  • Object, object to processing based on legitimate interests
  • Withdraw consent, unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any email

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@portlift.games. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the ICO (UK) or your local supervisory authority.

Cookies

This website uses strictly necessary session cookies required for the site to function (e.g. form state). These don't require consent, and are deleted when you close your browser.

With your consent, we also use analytics cookies set by Google Analytics (GA4) to understand site usage. These are not set until you accept them via the cookie banner shown on your first visit. You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer.

We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels (e.g. Meta Pixel), or any other behavioural tracking technology.

Security

Data you submit via our contact form is transmitted over HTTPS. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. No internet transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take it seriously.

We sign NDAs before seeing any game build, codebase, or confidential business information. This is standard on every engagement, not optional.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated to newsletter subscribers by email. Continued use of the website after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
