Console certification can take months. Porting to mobile skips all of it, no devkit access required, no TRC review, no lotcheck cycle. Just your game, redesigned for the phone in the player's pocket.
Porting to mobile means you never need devkit approval, lotcheck, or TRC sign-off. The mobile stores don't care what passed console cert.
Console games are built for controllers, TV screens, and dedicated hardware. Mobile has none of those. Every layer needs rethinking.
D-pads, analog sticks and triggers don't exist on a touchscreen. Every mechanic built around physical buttons needs a new interaction model, or the game becomes unplayable.
// Most common 1-star complaintConsole UIs are designed for 10-foot viewing on large screens. Mobile means 6" held close, portrait and landscape, with thumb zones that can't reach half the UI.
// UI needs a full rebuildPlayStation trophies, Nintendo achievements, Xbox Live leaderboards. None of these exist on mobile. Each platform-specific service needs a mobile equivalent wired in.
// Platform API swap requiredConsole hardware has dedicated GPUs, active cooling and a reliable power supply. Mobile thermal budgets are 10× tighter, and uncapped rendering drains the battery in minutes.
// Causes crashes & overheatingThe same disciplined five steps every time. Fixed quotes, weekly builds, no surprises.
Share your console build. We return feasibility, risks and an indicative price range.
No chargeDeep codebase review. Fixed price with milestones, no hourly billing.
Touch, UI, thermals, SDK swap, rebuilt in milestone sprints.
Full QA across iOS and Android hardware, store assets and submission.
Launch monitoring, critical fixes and platform update patches.
Same game. Different platform. Every layer that changes.
Console certification adds months to any cross-platform release. Porting to mobile bypasses the entire process, and puts your game in front of an audience that will never own a console.
Porting to mobile means no devkit approval, no lotcheck, no TRC review cycle. The mobile stores don't care about console certification history, just the build you submit.
We build both targets in parallel and submit together. Both stores go live on the same day. No staggered launch, no waiting for one review to clear before starting the other.
Without cert cycles or hardware approval queues, console ports typically ship faster than an equivalent console-to-console port. The assessment will give you a project-specific estimate.
We don't map buttons to a virtual D-pad. We redesign the entire input layer for how fingers work on glass, so a mobile player never knows what's missing.
"We expected the certification process to be the blocker. PORTLIFT explained that porting to mobile skips all of that. No lotcheck, no devkit access, no TRC. We shipped to iOS and Android in fourteen weeks."
// Sample feedback · Console developer · Action RPG portNo devkits, no certification. Porting to mobile is a one-way trip out of the console ecosystem. We work from your existing console build, and the App Store and Google Play have no concept of lotcheck, TRC review or hardware approval. You need a developer account on each store, which you may already have. That's it.
PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch are our primary platforms. We assess the codebase during the free audit; the console it came from matters less than the engine and architecture it's built on. If you're on Unity, Unreal or Godot we can almost always work with you. Custom engines are assessed case by case.
Typically 12–16 weeks from signed contract to store submission. The free assessment gives you a project-specific estimate. The key advantage over console-to-console porting is that there are no external certification queues to wait on. Our timeline is the only timeline.
We replace them with mobile equivalents. PSN trophies and Xbox achievements become Apple Game Center and Google Play Games achievements. Cloud saves move to the mobile platform equivalent. First-party SDKs are swapped for the appropriate mobile service; the feature set is preserved, the implementation changes.
Yes, always both, simultaneously. We build for iOS and Android in parallel and target same-day launch on both stores. We handle the submission pipeline, rating certificates, privacy manifests and screenshot requirements for each platform. One port, two storefronts, one launch day.
Turn-based games, strategy, RPGs, puzzle games, narrative adventures, and games with discrete session structure port well. Twitch-reaction titles that depend on analog precision are harder. The free assessment gives you an honest verdict; we'd rather tell you now than discover it mid-project.
Share your console build. Within 5 working days you'll get a free, honest assessment, feasibility, timeline, fixed quote, and a clear answer on cert requirements (spoiler: there are none).
